| I just got back from one of the most fun weekends that I've had in a long time. Now granted there were some parts that I could have done without, like the tire problem, the $250 I spent to fix the tire problem and the fact that I got in last night about 12:30 and still came to work at 8. God was definitely with us on this trip. Joseph's dad caught a problem with my tire just as we were getting ready to pull out of the driveway. My front driver's side tire was starting to separate. So pretty much, we would have been stuck in the middle of no where with a really jacked up tire if he had not seen it. God also gave us the Korblers who hooked us up in every way imaginable this weekend. They are an amazing family. God also gave us a little more time to spend with certain people which was a lot of fun. Maybe, we'll have to do it again some time. Maybe.
So I'm 21 now and there's definitely nothing special about it, except for the small, but perfect surprise I got on my birthday. This school year is going to be great, if it would just hurry up and get here. I can't wait for all that it has in store. I'm out. Have a great week.
| Nothing all that interesting has been happening lately except for having to move from Shingler apartments over to Wise apartments. We had to move only to find out that we're gonna move back in just a few weeks. It's really annoying. Not to mention that some people feel like they have to have their way no matter what. I'll just leave it at that. My dad gets here tonight for some Master's Teachers classes. He was supposed to get here this afternoon, but there was a slight mix up. I can't wait to see him. It's been a long time, like 2 months since the last time I saw him.
We did see the funniest thing at the mall though. Chris, Jeff and I went to go get our haircuts at Styles Barbershop. While we were getting our hair cut, two guys went flying by the shop. About 15 feet behind them were the security guards chasing after them. Everyone in the barbershop stopped what they were doing and walked outside. The security guards had no chance of catching those guys in the mall. All their friends were yelling at them to run faster. We just laughed about it, especially when we walked out and they were sitting there in a cop car. All in all, a great week, but I'm looking forward to an awesome weekend in North Carolina. Canoing and spending time with some great people. Plus I'll get to meet people who I know by name, but not in person. Good times ahead.
| This summer has really seemed to fly by. It feels like just yesterday that we were finishing the semester and getting ready for summer. Now, it's just about gone and it's close to a month before classes start again. These next few weeks are going to be full of stuff to do though. My dad comes in next week for some classes. The day after he leaves, I'm headed to North Carolina with Stephen and Chris for a canoing trip. Can't wait to see my boy, Joseph. It's going to be a great weekend. I'm just slightly excited about it.
Other than that, things are wrapping up around here. I'm done teaching our college and career Sunday School class. It's been a learning experience. God has certainly been faithful in the times where I have completely doubted myself. Lately, He has just blown me away with all the blessings He's given me in my life. I can't begin to thank Him enough. By the way, I got accepted in the Master's program here at good 'ole TNU. All I care about is that I may graduate 2 years in a row. That's my goal.
Well, I guess I'll get back to work.
| Things are pretty much the same as last week. There's just not a whole lot going on. It must be that boring part of summer finally kicking in. Some of us did go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was really good. The music was amazing. It kinda made me want to read the book since people are saying that it's closer to how the book was written than the first movie. Church has been really awesome lately, not that it normally isn't. God has just really met with us the past few Sundays and it's been amazing to see how He's working in the lives of people. We're going through our new mission statement and it's all about reaching up to God, reaching out to others and reaching in to our congregation. It's helped me to continue to catch the vision of where our pastor and staff are taking us. Stephen and I went to 3rd and Lindsley last night to hear one of his friends Justin Kyle Hasty. He rocked it out. It was awesome. He did a great job of connecting with the audience and playing with a band that it was their first time playing together. I'm pretty sure he's coming back in October so we'll have to get some people together to see him. By the way, people who are a little tipsy are hilarious. I'm so blessed to have the friends that I have. Have a great week. | | |
| Well, nothing has really happened this past week. It's actually been kinda boring which is a much needed break from all the drama and hectic schedules of freshmen orientation. Some of us went and saw Fantastic 4. It was a great set up for a second movie. They did an awesome job with character development as far as who the people are, but there was very little fighting, maybe 8 minutes right at the end.
Other than that I really feel as though God's trying to teach me some patience through a couple of things. I know it's all in His time, but it's hard to accept that all the time. I just want things to work out for His glory and not for me to screw them up just because I had to rush something.
I got some great news though. Some of us guys are going to head to Charlotte, NC in a few weeks to take a break from life. We'll see Joseph who I haven't seen in forever and probably head to some theme park around there. It'll be nice to get away for a few days and not worry about a thing. Hope everyone has a great week. Don't forget to keep praying for our troops. They definitely need it.
